This is a key trainee engineering role to support our growing business and aspirations to be a global leader in Asset Management Software Systems that support Decom, O&G and Renewable Energy Industries.

    The main purpose of the roles is to assist with digitalisation of our clients’ assets, combining site execution (onshore and offshore), and data processing (office).

  • Coding and Debugging: Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code. Create new features according to pre-defined requirements. Debug and resolve issues, ensuring the software’s performance, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Code Review and Refactoring: Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure high-quality, well-documented, maintainable, and efficient code. Proactively contribute to efforts to refactor and optimize existing codebases for improved performance, security and maintainability.

  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Create thorough unit tests for all development work, perform manual functional and non-functional testing to ensure the software’s functionality, performance, and security. Act as a champion for the implementation and performance of all testing activities, ensuring the application achieves the highest possible level of test coverage.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain clear and concise technical documentation, including design documents, architecture diagrams, and user guides.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with project managers, product owners, designers, developers and other stakeholders, ensuring smooth project execution and clear communication of technical concepts.
  • Project Planning and Estimation: Contribute to agile project planning and estimation ceremonies, providing valuable insights on resource allocation and technical feasibility, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software solutions.
  • Mentorship: Share knowledge and best practices with junior software developers in a positive manner that encourages growth and aids in their development.
  • Complex Problem Solving: Tackle complex technical challenges and provide innovative solutions to address unique project requirements effectively.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong technical expertise in front and back-end software development, with a particular focus on web development and proficient in multiple programming languages (ideally including either PHP or C#, as well as Javascript) and an advanced understanding of software design principles and architecture.
  • Project Execution: Proven expertise in agile methodologies as well as defining requirements and delivering software features and components on schedule.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a demonstrated aptitude for identifying and resolving complex technical challenges.
  • Collaboration: Outstanding teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Adaptability: Demonstrated adaptability to quickly learn and apply new technologies and tools as needed for projects.
  • Code Quality and Best Practices: Strong focus on code quality, best practices, and coding standards. Experience with code review processes and automated testing.

The Role

Our Aberdeen office is looking for a dynamic Business Development Executive to support our sales and account teams.

You will initially act as a support role for the Business Development Director and account teams, learning the detail of the business sales cycle and our markets.

This role starts with sales and marketing administration responsibilities and is designed for growth into a more client-facing position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Business Development Director and account teams in daily tasks, including scheduling, client correspondence, and data entry.
  • Conduct sales data entry and run basic analytics to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Manage and build client relationships, including initial outreach, follow-ups, and maintaining customer databases.
  • Qualify inbound and outbound leads, and coordinate with the account team for more advanced sales discussions.
  • Participate actively in sales meetings and training sessions, providing insights and feedback.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a sales or client facing role, preferably in technical /integrity/asset maintenance or SaaS business.
  • Possess a ‘hunter’ mindset, focussed on achieving and exceeding targets.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of engaging clients effectively and explaining product value.
  • Must be legally authorised to work in the UK.
    Some travel may be required.

  • An understanding of CRM systems like Salesforce, Pipedrive etc.
  • Solid grasp of business software like Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc

Key Responsibilities

  • Learn to operate laser scanners in line with relevant site procedures in both onshore and offshore environments.
  • Learn to operate scan data processing software to support an integrated view of client assets that supports their asset integrity aspirations.
  • Learn how to manage scan data and ensure sound handover of the data to ESERV engineering staff, client representatives and third-party stakeholders where required.
  • Learn to build 2D and 3D models within our proprietary digital twin software, AS-TEG TM, extracting data from the digital twin for inspection and engineering isometrics, as well as assisting our in-house software development team with beta testing new features.
  • Work as part of the team to establish the validation parameters for new products.
  • Report and document failure trends, support the analysis of trends, propose and implement robust corrective actions.
  • Work closely and support other teams, especially project engineering and field teams.
  • Undertake and contribute to the successful delivery of continuous improvement projects and new product introductions.
  • Work closely with customers to fully identify technical requirements and specifications.
  • Develop understanding and application of AutoCAD based software packages including AutoCAD 2D and Plant 3D.

Requirements

Experience / Skill Set

  • Proven diagnostic and problem solving skills abilities.
  • Familiarity with engineering environment, specifically services and SaaS
  • Prepared to work offshore and go to supporting training where required.
  • Ability to share information effectively, be guided and learn from example.
  • Attention to detail, flexibility and ability to collaborate with others.
  • Ability to work and learn in a fast-paced environment focused on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to build relationships with third parties and client representatives.
  • To act as an ambassador for the business.
  • Take full responsibility for personal actions and safety while working in and out of the office environment.

 

Education Requirements

  • HNC (Min) HND preferred in Mechanical Eng, Civil Engineering, Structural Steel or Architecture.
  • Applications will be considered with a minimum of 2 years relevant work experience.
  • Basic understanding of Drawing Packages including AutoCAD and or Solidworks.
  • Ability to read technical data, interpret the information in order to produce technical drawings.
  • A basic understanding of Asset Integrity.
